Hello, im using a system with the msi k8mm3-v motherboard and the AMD sempron 3000+ CPU. I want to dual boot Windows 2000 and XP, i have enough storage for it, i want the maximum performance from the pc and the Sempron 3000+ seems kind of slow. I cannot get my hands on another 98, 2000 or XP compatible PC as people are overpricing the parts where i live.

I have found an AMD athlon 64 3700 cpu online for 15 dollars, and i was wondering if its worth the upgrade? Thanks

Twice as fast and twice as hot. (89Watt TDP)
If you want pathos, you need to take it. For real use, the more recent Venice with a 65W TDP and made using a 90nm process is better.

I'd grab it, anything over 3000ish seems very hard to find for reasonable money now.
