How to get the Windows version working:

1. Download the Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit from here

(Optional Step: Set Windows 98 Compatibility Mode on the GoldFX patch installer if you wish to install it)

2. If you have more than 1 GB of RAM remove your paging file (I have 2 GB myself and have no problems with any program, including the memory hog that is Battlefield 2) OR run MSCONFIG, goto the boot.ini tab then select Advanced options, then choose the maxmem option and choose 366.

3. Install the game, the GoldFX patch is upto you, however at the moment I haven't been able to make it work 100% correctly.

4. The game should work now, do not set any compatibility modes on the executable yourself!

If you have the GoldFX patch installed I recommend the dgvoodoo 1.31 Glide wrapper from http://dege.freeweb.hu (the beta crashes on my computer), you can use that to set your resolution, however I have problem's that the cockpit flashes (except in the training missions) and the sky seems to have a dark shadow flashing on it. I am experimenting with the options to try and fix this. Software mode however is 99% perfect on my machine.
