is it possible to map the signal for fm synthesis, ( from either an adlib or sb synth map ) to the wavetable synthesis on the card, rather than having to use the mt32-gm setting... ( some sounds just arent right with the mt32 conversion)

Here's the simple, VDMSound explanation:
VDMS renders the OPL3/AdLib audio as a wave, whereas MIDI (GM/GS, MT-32) is sent to your card. OPL3/AdLib also does some things that aren't possible in any MIDI implementation.
