Hi,

I'm interested in DOSBox running on Windows XP Pro to run an old Foxpro application. I haven't tried installing DOSBox yet and before I do I figured I should ask if it's possible to network it via TCP/IP and if so, how would I set it up?

Thanks in advance,
Linn

Why bother to run foxpro in Dosbox since WinXP pro support foxpro natively in command box and pretty fast too.
My case is even worse as the WinXP64bit totally discard the 16bits extension portion. But in case you're wondering, yes, you can. Just map your network drive as normal in the WinXP pro then use dosbox to mount is as usual. The performance is very bad tho. In case you want to use Dosbox with Foxpro try the CVS version, as it is way faster than the official built.

We are having a problem running FoxPro from Windows XP and 2000. It randomly locks up, stops responding to the keyboard, and all we can do is end the task. I'm just looking for a solution to the lockups and it seems that since it's a DOS program running it in DOS makes the most sense.

If anyone has any better ideas I'm all ears.

Thanks,
Linn

Several people are making regularly builds (CVS + various patches). Search here and you will find links ...

Make sure that your PC workstation running FoxPro under the NTVDM will NEVER go into a powersaving mode for the screen (or system) and see if your input freeze still happens. I would also recommend the TAME software for any older DOS applications run under the WinNT/2K/XP NTVDM. This helps with the keyboard polling problem with older DOS apps.
