No. Not the first set of drivers I used for the Yamaha that included that. It's a mystery where I got those from. I've tried searching everywhere. I'm not even sure if they were technically 'correct' for the card. Or if they were WDM.

Okay, yesterday, I finally managed to repair both of the floppy disk drives I have for my 440CDT. However, when I checked, the software that was installed turned out to be this:

Hey, don’t worry about it. Thanks for checking though. 😀 If anything, that’s brought to my attention the 440 CD. I need to look around online to see if anyone has uploaded an ISO of that disc as I didn’t get one with the PC I bought. I’m guessing that covers the 440BX, too…?

You wouldn't happen to know if that 440 CD would work with any 440BX motherboards?

I'm not sure if we're talking about the same thing. "440CD" was a typo, and I actually meant "440CDT", specifically a "Toshiba Satellite 440CDT laptop" with a "YMF715B-S" sound chip. What do you mean by "440 CD"?

But to answer your question in general: If one had a motherboard driver CD for a 440BX, it would very likely contain several drivers:

• IDE controller
• Chipset
• (possibly) audio
• (possibly) LAN

The drivers are, of course, always tailored specifically to the corresponding chips. That means, if a board has the respective chips, there's no reason not to use the drivers. If your board doesn't have the matching chips, you logically can't use the respective drivers. The only exception: the chipset drivers, since there's only one "Intel 440BX" chipset, and accordingly, the 440BX drivers work for all 440BX chipsets. I hope this answers your question.

It does. Thanks. I mean, I probably don’t really need to worry about such discs, but I was curious if one existed so I could add it to my collection of drivers and software. 😀 I have some IDE drivers, so apart from that, it would only be the onboard sound drivers that would be of interest. But I most likely have the latest for those anyway.
