When I wrote 'unhealthy' I was thinking about the combination of slotket+adapter at 1400 MHz.

I wanted to say it as well - the slotket looks Coppermine ready. The older Mendocino ones usually don't even mention FSB settings past 66 I think, let alone have 133 printed on them.

It’s absolutely Coppermine ready.
I’ve used multiple Coppermine CPU’s in that slotket and all reported correctly and worked without any issues at 100fsb and 133fsb with correct voltage in the BIOS of my P3B-F.

That said, it’s just a basic slotket and there’s certainly no guarantee that the manufacturer didn’t take shortcuts like skipping non-essential circuitry that may be required for the Tualatin to work properly.

Unfortunately I don’t have another slotket to test and eBay sellers seem to think they’re made of gold. (Unless I go for another generic item, but what would be the point of that)

That may mean that the korean adapter is modded to signal for 1.55volt. My suggestion is to follow riplin's earlier suggestion and set the slotket to AUTO and set the P3BF to JUMPERLESS via the JEN jumper. If that does not work then there may be something unhealty going on with the slotket or with the power delivery of the P3BF.
That slotket, btw, is a knock off of the "Super Slocket-III" wich on its turn was derived from the Maxtium CPU370 ver. 1.0.

If Coppermine works on the slotket, but Tualatin does not work, there is a possibility that there is no VTT connection (contacts G35-G37)
The correct Coppermine adapters have a whole polygon for VTT voltage.
As far as I remember, Copper will work without this connection, although according to the circuit design it should be there. Tualatin - definitely won't.

I recently purchased one of the pin modded Tualatin's from the same seller.
I'm using one of these "Super Slocket III" adapters with mine, on an Intel Seattle SE440BX-2.
It works just fine. I would guess that the slocket is the problem.

I purchased one of the Pentium 1266ghz ones. The only 1.4ghz ones that he had were the Tualeron.
I'm at work and the PC is at home with the chip installed. I can probably pull it and snap a pic later if you really need it.

If it's not too much hassle, I'd appreciate it because then I can compare his work with mine.

I would like to see which points the seller bridged and whether he removed the VID2 pin.

I am communicating with him on eBay and he has advised on some changes that may help.

I’ve found the reason for the higher CPU voltage on my Gigabyte GA-60MM7.

There is a possibly undocumented jumper next to the CPU which increases the voltage. Removing that jumper drops the voltage to just over 1.4V.

The CPU seems to work perfectly in that Gigabyte board so I guess it’s safe to assume the problem on my Asus board is either the slotket or the config of jumper/bios settings.

I haven’t had time to try the suggestions yet.
