Probably not. The 16MB SGRAM versions had 8 chips and a different PCB.

It will probably cost you more to replace the ram chips then to buy a 16MiB Voodoo3.

V3 2000 PCI has 4 chips, that are identical to those i've just soldered to my Velocity (km4132g112q-6). The card isn't working now (beeps on POST). It possibly died during soldering, or just need another BIOS. Will see.

So what changed, you're using the velocity 200 x.06 BIOS instead of the 100 x.06 bios?
BTW it would be nice if you could document some of what you changed, did you only need to swap the ram and swap over R22 > R23 & add R24 or did you have to change strap resistors?

Congrats on getting this working, I dunno if I've ever heard of a velocity 200 but it's good that you've now got one 😀

I don't think 12MB is an option. Your choices are 8MB or 16MB.

KM4132G271AQ-10 ? ( they are less expensive ) i didnt check the datasheet, maybe they are slower

i just checked, they are 100mhz, they are too slow

i cant find them. ( they are 166mhz chip. you should be able to run them at 166mhz. but the overclock.exe patch dont permit to overclock ram )

some matrox has KM4132G1120-5 up to 200mhz

The operating speed is set by the GPU. You can install memory chips -7, -6, -5.5, -5 and they will all work at 143 MHz. There is no need to overclock the Voodoo3 above 143 MHz - Glide applications do not require this, and competing in performance with GeForce cards with a memory capacity of 128 MB - 1024 MB in DirectX applications seems strange to me.

ok i got it the voodoo 3 speed in mhz is the same for both the memory and core, so when i overclock the card its overclock both. But I'm still curious, why glide application dont need this. example, if i play at 1024x768 in glide mode with nfs porsche unleashed, it should have difference in fps between 143mhz and 166mhz ? right ? This game is heavy for a voodoo 3. i didnt benchmark the difference, i know i can verify it with a hacked glide2x.dll with fraps. But i understand porsche unleashed is not a typical game for a voodoo 3. I know screamer 2, tomb raider,croc... should not need it at 166mhz.
