I managed to get this 780 Ti (https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/pny-xlr … dition-oc.b2709) for pretty cheap as it was sold "For parts". Most likely a memory chip has failed or a connection to the core from the memory chip pads. I lifted up the thermal pads for the memory but couldn't see any physical damage on or around any of them.

Time to investigate...

Ran MATS and it looks like the C1 memory chip is not happy

I replaced the C1 chip and the artifacts have gone! Ran multiple benchmarks, the card is working 100%.

Looks like the chip had some cold solder points

Lovely, mind if I cross reference your thread into the repair collection?

Yeah go for it.

I suppose the old memory IC might even work after a rework? (we'll never know 😁)

I might reball it and try in the next broken 780Ti 😉
