Does anyone have a BOM list to hand to recap a Quadro4 980XGL card? If there are different versions, mine has SMD capacitors. Thanks!

One question (I couldn't figure this out from the schematics): do any or all of the capacitors need to be low ESR?

Only if you can find a 470u capacitor that isn't a Low-ESR type with an ESR of 25 mΩ. 😀
The polymer OSCON from Sanyo has been marked as "no_stuff" because, back then, it cost as much as three electrolytic capacitors.
What’s the point of all this fuss now?

PS Polymer capacitor technology is now 40 years old. However, for the first 20 years, it was protected by Sanyo’s patents, which set the prices for capacitors of this type.
That is why the schematic shows the OSCON designation.
In the mid-2000s, other manufacturers only began to produce them once the patents had expired.
