Apologies for the necrobump, but this thread is pretty much what comes up in searches for the pinout for the Disney Sound Source so seems best to add onto it.
Since kiwa appears to have resoldered the wires the color changes made the above slightly unclear. Between this and the reverse engineered schematics of the power supply/amplifier module at https://github.com/roybaer/sound_source I was able to successfully make an adapter from an RJ11 screw terminal to 1/8" jack. The pinout for the jack is pin 1 (yellow) = line out, pin 2 (green) = ground, pin 3 (red) = +9v(/+5v?), pin 4 (black) = select. As per above you can ignore the select line, but it was the select line (pin 17) of the parallel port fed into transistors to turn on the +9v line.
If one doesn't trust the pin numbering, ground can be identified by direct continuity to the shell of the DSS. The +v line is the adjacent center pin, and the line out is the adjacent outer pin.
In regards to +9v vs +5v, it would appear that the power supply/amplifier directly fed +9v after the transistor and diode. Perhaps it works with either?
