I have a Euro PC which had failed logic ics, some are already replaced and socketed, but then it broke down again and i was to lazy to fix it again. It also has AVR based Clock Replacment and Flash Storage for Settings 😁 instead of Battery buffering.

Last Half of Darkness also mentions Sound Master support at some point - any chance it could work with this card ?
If so, that would be cool. The game uses Covox stuff for sound plackback, so maybe it could be patched also.

This simple DAC would also be an interesting addition/alternative to emulators such as PCem or DOSBox, IMHO,
where Sound Blaster support might be a bit too power hungry sometimes (Amiga port of DOSBox, perhaps ?).

In that case, if SB is disabled, it wouldn't conflict with its I/O ports, either.
Speaking of I/O ports, the Sound Master seems to use I/O addresses that won't conflict with LPTx so easily.

In some scenarios, like running Windows 3.x/4.x or using parallel port ethernet cards,
this DAC would come in handy. Maybe things like TEMU could be patched to support this one, too.

Imagine, the Soundman could then be used for AdLib AND Tandy 3-voice sound! 😁

just patch temu to output to port 300 hell 😀

but most games use 3 voice for music so you can choose 3 voice or adlib only hm

i have made similar circuit for testing and maybe i will add it to the 3 voice soundcard.. i need more isa slots my XT is running out of spare Slots 😒

Unfortunately, though, I have got no Soundman, so I had to ask.

I've tried to decode and simulate address decoder of Rainbow Arts Soundman from photos.
This card puts OPL2 on base addresses: 0x380, 0x388, 0x38E.
And 8-bit Non-DMA DAC on base addresses: 0x220, 0x221, 0x228, 0x229, 0x22E, 0x22F, 0x300, 0x301, 0x308, 0x309, 0x30E, 0x30F
And all of those ports are used at the same time.

It this correct or I'm misinterpreting something? Can anybody check?

ok since I am the only one that has this thing atm I searched my notes better , turns out I wrote 22x 30x ranges not 220/300 ...
so just to be extra sure I did the tests again and found that all these addresses (0x220, 0x221, 0x228, 0x229, 0x22E, 0x22F, 0x300, 0x301, 0x308, 0x309, 0x30E, 0x30F) produce sound.
