I was yelling at the screen to get you to check the Vcc on that clock buffer, but I see you got around to it 😀

Yes, that was stupid, but fortunately it only cost me some time. Mistakes, where you do something stupid and make things worse are really annoying . I am planning to make a video as well about how I made such a really bad mistake with another mainboard 😁 I think, we have to stay honest and confess, that from time to time all of us do make stupid things.

Just dropped in to say you have a great channel. Very interesting content and cool soldering skills 😉
Keep up the great work!

Thank you very much! Although I don't think, that my soldering skills are especially good. I'd say with a lot of luck I managed to solder the one thing or another, but there are many cases, where I have no clue how to make it...

Great set of videos, interested in seeing your update to the VRM and how that performs under load.

Just got recommended your video about blowing open that old 430FX board with MMX and K6 CPUs. Hardcore. I like it.

The algorithm works sometimes! 😁

Never let them know when it works, that's how we'll spot the AIs trying to infiltrate.

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

Hi scorp,

Thanks for your great 2 parter about upgrading the Asus P/I-P55TP4XEG and your homemade VRM!

I noticed that the latest official #401A0-0302 BIOS had some limitations when you put the K6-2 CPU in. As I patched the P55TVP4 BIOS for the same limitations before, I can easily apply these same improvements to your TP4XE(G) BIOS. These are the changes I can make:
- Add detection of the K6-2+ and K6-III+ CPUs
- Expand the various K6 support routines to be K6-2+/K6-III+ aware
- Expand the K6 Write Allocation feature to work also on all K6-2/III CPUs with the CXT core and enable this feature for the K6-2+ and K6-III+ as well
- Expand the CPU Type display routine for correct display of the AMD-K6(tm)-2, K6(tm)-III, K6(tm)-2+, and K6(tm)-III+ strings
- Fix the 300MHz display limit bug on the BIOS boot screen
- Add 6.0 x 75 (450MHz) and 6.0 x 83.3 (500MHz) CPU speed indication support for FSB overclocking
- Fix the 32GB and 64GB limit bugs for HDD support up to 128GiB.

Let me know if you like to have this patched BIOS made.

Greetings, Jan

Okay, I will start working on it.

When tested, I will also put the patched BIOS on my Unoffical K6-2+ / K6-III+ page.
