I wouldn't go bashing on Biostar. When I worked at a computer store in 2000-2001, we were buying motherboards directly from Biostar.

We sold many more times Biostar boards than all other brands combined and had fewer bad Biostar boards than any other single brand.

i had the same experience here in Argentina. Sold more Biostar (especially am2 and am3) than anything combined and they hardly came for RMA. There are many computers that i built and still are in working conditions even 10 years later

the Tforce series was the best in my opinion, it was like a cheap DFI, very overclockeable and colorful but without the annoying and stupid bugs from DFI

I don't know about later boards, but 386 and 486 era Biostars seem very reliable and have good performance...

So, some of you were mildly interested in my day at the vintage market.

...

Which country was this in? I'd greatly appreciate if we could refrain from posting pictures of Nazi memorabilia on this forum

Damn, so I guess we shouldn't post anything IBM-related as well, considering their ties with the Nazi regime...

Had to ship the broken PVM-8045Q back to where it came from to get a refund.

Almost got a cool console TV, however, the seller hasn't responded back to my message about the photo of the rear yet.

And I agree: no political talk on this site, ladies and gentlemen. Don't want this thread to get locked and don't want people to get barred on this site.

Oh. And I bought some Android TV boxes (two of them are Android 4.X and the others are 7.1, which aren't retro yet).

Yes, can get other people barred just from loading the page, as some countries have laws against extremist symbols and imagery.

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

I've always been pretty good resisting the urge to buy stuff I like but don't really need, but how the heck are you supposed to summon enough backbone to say no to a seller like that 😀

I found it interesting that this was on the two sides of the same table.

Well maybe some Nazi robbed a Jewish house or a synagogue (what they did all the time) and kept property to himself, now it's sold along with his stuff.

France bans the display of such items but owning and selling them are allowed. So you can sell them, but you can't show them. You can display a blurred/altered picture, or describe the item with text.
That is a bit weird because games depicting Nazi symbols are still allowed (Wolfenstein series games are not censored in France).

Speaking of sickening things...

Pretty much the same situation with swastikas and other "verfassungsfeindliche Symbole" here in Germany. You can produce them, own them, sell them, lend them and look at pictures of them as much as you want but you may not display them publicly. Sellers will usually put a sticker over them when displaying items containing them publicly or blurr out the symbols in pictures. It is allowed to some extend to show those symbols when it is socially adequate i.e. in an educational context, for research, in certain reports and in arts. That's also the reason some years ago it was decided that - if done in a socially adequate manner - it would be possible to display them in publicly released video games; just like it had long been possible to do in movies.
It would probably not be legal for me to post pictures containing those symbols on the web to illustrate my day at the flea market. (If there's a small swastika somewhere in the background that I didn't realise is there I don't think there would be any problem though.) Privately looking at somebody else's pictures is not a problem too.

What's sickening about a Fury Maxx for 5€ btw? 🤔

I never saw a Fury max under 100+€ (not even talking about the ~1000€ prices sometimes seen on ebay)
The seller cancelled the transaction after i asked info about the card. I'm 100% sure we will post again the item with some zeros added behind the "5".

Damn I also hate it when that happens! Sorry, man!😐
With small lots at low prices I have learned it's always best to just say "I'm taking them all." to avoid this scenario.
Be patient, another deal will show up eventually.

You should have kept your mouth shut, paid the 5€ he asked. 🙁
Happened to me many times in the past 20+ years, just don't ask...

yeah, I did that once and then received the lot without all the cool cards that were on the pictures
turns out the seller had already sold all those cards individually and didn't bother to update the pictures, also didn't get anything back from them.
(and it was more than just €5)

Learnt that too, ask if all that is on the pic is all I'm gonna get.
But no singling out to avoid "misunderstandings".
Market is hell 😀 We all have a few stories to tell. Also good ones. 😀

The 233MHz ceramic P1 MMX CPUs are all fake. This one was really made with that sspec and frequency in the ceramic package
At first glance I don't see it as being a counterfeit, but perhaps I'm overlooking something here?
