Hey look, top left you got a mini wind tunnel, you can carve aerodynamic models out of cherry pits or something and test them in it. 🤣

Ok man, stop! Some of your comments make me chuckle, but this split me wide open. 🤣 You're killin me.

Just done a trade. I'm giving an AT case + PSU in exchange for a Graphics Ultra Pro ISA and a WDC 90C31 based ISA card. I think we both got a nice deal.

Some processors, again. This time random Pentium II. I got 4x 450MHz SL2U7 which will be enough to upgrade my PII builds including one dual-slot board.

Uh.. Still need a PII 400 or 450 in my collection 🙁

Sounds fun, but I'm lazy... Maybe I should satisfy my perversions in form of scandinavian berries through pentium II wind turbine modern art.

Bought an Aixun 200W intelligent soldering station with C245 handle option. This C245 handle takes JBC T245 tips. Which I ordered 2 more genuine JBC tips from Germany website.

Big upgrade from my two stations to help with heavy copper plane soldering like capacitor replacements on motherboards.

Cheers,

Great Northern aka Canada.

You can never have too many Slot 1 CPUs.

You can never have too many CPUs.

Come to think of it, you can never have too many computers or parts 😀

Oh I just checked, I only have a 350 and an 800. Slot CPUS. Well I guess the 800 is a PIII actually.

I went Brazilian years ago when I got my Husky/GSD mix.

If I stopped sweeping, I'd have carpet again. 😜

I was grinding away at aluminum in my concrete basement area, then a few weeks later I was grinding away at rust.... 10 mins into that it occurs to me, "Crap, I'm coating my basement floor in thermite*...".... so I decided I should sweep up .... and ever since it's been a semi annual tradition... unless I did anything particularly messy.

*yeah, hard to light off, but not beyond the bounds of possibility I'd drop an arcing cable on it at some point in the future... or decide to hold a piece of steel to the floor for "a small weld" or something.

edit: guess it's also the first place I'd throw a lithium battery if it lit up on me when I was screwing around.

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

Not really a "Retro" item but I snagged an old HP w19b 19" LCD for 35 AUD, its only 1440x900 @75hz but thats a pretty nice wide screen resolution for a lower spec GPU that cant handle 1080p, the panel looks to be in A grade condition too, not a scratch or mark on it.

Seller appears to have been a retro collector that parted out the build this belonged too which might explain why the panel is in such nice condition.

Finally I can post here too.

My first retro purchase: a Toshiba Satellite Pro 4340. I received it yesterday.

s-l1600.jpg

Here the seller pics.

  • Pentium III 650 Mhz
  • 320 MB SDRAM (max allowed on this system)
  • S3 Savage/IX
  • Yamaha DS-XG

It's in very good condition, it was sold as not working\tested since the original power adapter was missing.
It powers up with a universal adapter and everything works, battery has life too! And also 30 gb hard drive seems pretty all ok (some bad sectors).

I'm having game issues tho, I will make a new topic later.

In the next days will arrive a Mitac 5033 (always wanted a K6 system) and a Dell Latitude C540.
