Going to clean it with vinegar, baking soda and finally isopropanol and distilled water while I wait for some tools I've ordered. Especially that free floating trace. Haven't had a VLB system since I was a kid so I want to save it, I'm used to soldering micro electronics but I've never had to do this kind of corrosion work so it'll be an interesting project
Looks a bit critical but could be doable. Depends on the degree of damage after all that green sh... is removed and if you need to remove the ISA slots and other larger parts.
I can also recommend "Plastik 70" by Kontakt Chemie for conservation afterwards if that's available at your location.
Ah, and, something more: IF you can't save it I would kindly like to apply for that chipset. Need one to repair a board I have for some time now. Been looking for some unrepairable battery leakage victim as donor since but they are hard to find. So give me a tap if you feel this could save another one if it can't be saved itself. Thx 😀
