My mainboards finally arrived.
FIC PT-2006 does POST.
CD drive gets detected, but I can neither boot Win98 nor UBCD. Tested different drives and cables.
Chipset is 430VX. My 430HX boards can boot from CD without issues. Am I missing something?
Battery is socketed, so dead Dallas isn't the issue.
CPU was a Pentium 75, jumpered to 2x66MHz. What a madman! 😁
FIC PT-2000 does not POST. No beeps.
It was missing all the jumpers. Studied the manual and am pretty sure that I did set the jumpers correctly.
Also no Dallas.
Asus PCI/I-486SP3 does also not POST. No beeps.
Maybe the Dallas is dead? I once had a board which also didn't post until the battery was replaced.
Took the opportunity to also test an Asus P/I-P55T2p4.
Board does POST but complains that the Dallas is empty. Can't boot from CD either, which it should be able to do. Maybe because of the Dallas?
After I swapped the CPU and put in a MMX233, it's shown as 225MHz. BIOS is pretty old (1996). Might that be the reason?
Board needs to cool down for a few minutes, before it can be started again. Looks like someone already replaced the 2 capacitors in the bottom right corner.
