Also thanks for the support. I actually thought of renting something, but the issue is that they cost quite a bit here, I'm not sure they're safe, and more importantly I don't have any car and don't have a use for it. Getting one just for temporarily would be a bit too much and renting one too.

And the bigger problem is time. I can only be there on weekends so I'm really limited to what I can and can't do

I came across this board and bought it. It is visually 100% identical to PCPartner ABPS3-C861 (https://theretroweb.com/motherboards/s/pcpart … 1-35-c861-01-xx) right down to silkscreen markings. However, going by the stickers on the ISA slot it is branded ASKA SST-5830, so that is another brand/model you may want to add.

It also seems to come with a different BIOS for the ITE IO controller than the ones on the site. I can upload it tonight if you want.

With regard to the user submission system. We are going to have to be very careful about how we implement this. First the motherboard editor has some quirks, it may be difficult to use. And we need to have a clear system for whats been changed. I think this will be slow to develop. But we are planning it.

There do seem to be so many things on the to do list, and this is not #1 right now.

yes, i tried several different computers/cellphones and internet service providers, in my home and office, and they are all very difficult to open. could it be that i am in china?
but it used to be fast about a week before...

Don't know if this is a known problem, sorry if I'm repeating stuff that's already been reported:
The search function appears faulty. I get no or very few results when searching for known combinations.
i.e. searching for any Intel chipset only gives 22 results total.

There may be a weird bug where going back in browser history from the search results causes the search filters to not be cleared correctly.
Try hitting the Reset button before applying the chipset brand filter.

Oh yeah, it's probably got something to do with this. Reset button doesn't help though, I need to clear my browser chronic and start over from the index page for search to work correctly.🤔

Along with the quality of data, the site performance has really improved too. It's a pleasure to use.

Add YEAR/DATE to the database indicating when product entered market or 'earliest documented example' would be great.

Add some way for 'Expansion slots' to not be required to remember exact number of slots. For example clicking "8-bit ISA" would fill the input box with "x", or even better possibility of requesting range so instead of "x" you could enter ">0" or "1-2" or "<3".

Add ram slots to the database to allow searching for dip/sipp/simm30/simm72/dimm/etc and by number of slots. Of course at first it will be unpopulated, but with time people can fill the data while fixing other things, or maybe even automatically by using computer vision.

I dunno if that "2x floppy interface" is confusion creeping in from things that happened later but ended up causing questions about the past, like ATA was just ATA until serial came out and now it was PATA, (I can't find PATA port labelled in 486 manual! etc). In that from 1981 into early noughts a single floppy interface was guaranteed to support 2 drives, until P4s and later boards came out with a grudging single drive only supported in BIOS floppy interface (That can probably be persuaded to see another drive with workarounds in DOS) So that maybe gets people wanting to label floppy interfaces with the number of drives the BIOS supports on them.
