I am trying to find a bios file for a Geforce 4 Ti4200 8x AGP card. But can't find one. 🙁 Found some on links on https://web.archive.org/web/20030610050835/ht … vid_nvidia.html but the bios files are not archived unfortunately.

Does someone have one or are willing to save one (using: nvflash --save file.rom). It needs to be from a NV28 card btw (so AGP 8x) not from a NV25.

I have an Aopen Geforce 4 Ti4200 8x V64(N8) AGP card. But any bios brand will do as I can use a bios editor to change some values if needed.

Reason is that I recently bought a card on Marktplaats (Ebay like site). But card is not working on a Tyan S1854 motherboard (flickering screen/system hangs) and only sometimes on a Shuttle SN41G2 pc. When it doesn't work it shows a blinking cursor in the top left screen as soon as Windows loads the Nvidia driver (and then hangs). Of course tried different AGP speeds, driver versions etc but to no avail. Could be a hardware problem but want to try another bios first. Seller mentioned that it was working btw.

If you need the nvflash utility let me know and I will attached it to this topic. TIA!

I've got a LeadTek Ti4800SE if that's of any use?

Don't know to be honest. I see it's a bit higher clocked but don't know what else is different. If you can upload a bios I can take a look with a bios editor.

I've a couple of these I could dig out (inno3D Ti 4200 AGP 8X W/128MB AGP) - no idea on the other specs

That would be great! Don't know which one will work so the more I can try the better.

Too bad those files cannot be retrieved ! Tech PowerUP has a large video bios collection but nothing before the 6200's as far as varied IIRC

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

This looks exactly like my card (minus the DVI port). Would like to do a diff with my extracted bios to see if it is different.

Sorry for the delay; didn't have a suitable AGP rig to hand so had to throw one together!

Have the bios images now (4.28.20.21.00 written by latest GPU-Z app...nvflash just wouldn't play ball?). I did both cards, but they're byte-identical anyway.

Will post up when Admin re-enable attachments.

Nice! Mine is 4.28.20.10. So that would be nice to compare. Nvflash should be 4.14 or higher I believe. Did mine with nvflash version 5.13.

Tried various versions from 5.163.0 to 5.780, but none seemed to sit well with these particular cards for various reasons...GPU-Z worked first time.

So, grab em while you can 😀

Downloaded and burned. Seems to work so far but need to do some more testing. Thanks!

Thanks. But this is a bios for the NV25 (non AGP 8x) so I can't use it. 😀

I have an Asus V8420/128M and an MSI G4Ti4200-TD64. I'll need a copy of nvflash but I can dump the roms from them if they'll help

Those are NV25 cards as far I can see. I am looking for NV28 roms (AGP8x). So unfortunately can't use them.

Hello,

http://web.archive.org/web/*/https://whitebunny.net/*

Here's a fairly complete crawl of the old whitebunny website with a lot of the BIOS files intact. Somebody should probably crawl that.

Not all links work but got 3 NV28 bios files. Thanks!

Huh, that's an interesting site. Pulled it out with wayback-machine-downloader and fixed some filenames, edited the HTML and now it's a usable site in a directory:
https://archive.org/details/whitebunny-video-bios-roms
Not great taking content from wayback machine and uploading it back to it, but this little portable website is much more useful than trying to dig around the archive itself.

Also while looking for references to the whitebunny site, found this too - nothing here for the AGP 8x Ti4200 though: http://www.x86-secret.com/articles/nvbios.htm
