Acer makes crisp little boards don't they?

I'm still looking for the MR Bios M1209 images referenced in this legend ...

This is a variant of the motherboard of the Multitech / Acer MPF-PC 1100-16
The series were one of the first 386 models next to the Compaq 386 and they were manufactured at least for demonstration and exhibition purposes before the end of 1986.
My even older board has Multitech at the bottom left of the 1100/16 label. At that time this was covered with a layer of white varnish and ACER lettering. This shows that there was excess stock from 1986 before the renaming from Multitech to Acer. Both motherboards in my possession have the same bios version.

As in the original version, this is the 386 with 16 Mhz but without the 387 processor

Acer has fitted 1024Kb plus parity RAM on the board

Acer has listed the lower of the two memory expansion cards for expansion in the Technical Reference Manual

In addition to my post I have something very important here, for the early versions of the MPF-PC 1100/16 which can be recognized by the 4 Rom sockets. the jumper setting is very different and misleading to the one found on the Internet.
A sticker with the positions and jumper settings is located in the housing cover ex works.

A further note should also be made: some of the mainboards appear to require the lock for operation. I have a version (following post) where the key switch has 3 positions and in one position the computer shows no screen display and no error message.

Now I am also pleased to have received a later version of the mainboard and I would also like to show it here.

The mainboard is labeled 1100/16/SE (88110) M8 48.11016.201F.
The layout looks similar at best at first glance, but is different in many places.

The first detail is that there are only 2 ROM sockets, which are numbered U9 and U10 in relation to the numbering further forward.

This version is also equipped with 16 Mhz, the lock like a sticker on the board, possibly indicate that it could be an OEM product for a Siemens PC or an industrial machine.
However, I could not find any information on the Internet.

On closer inspection, it is also noticeable that the circuits of the chipset (top left) are distributed differently. I have not yet made a deeper comparison.

In addition to facelift innovations, there is also technological progress. At the bottom right there are no longer 4 ram banks containing a total of 1024Kbyte Dram, but it is now permanently equipped with 16x256k DIP20 Drams from Oki and has 8x256k DIP16 as parity. and it could be upgraded from 2 to 4 megabytes of RAM with the same amount.

my first action was to backup the Bios ROMs and a first bootup test. The Bios layout looks almost identical and without having read out the hard disk table there are again type 1-47 and type 60-83, but there were also empty values in the table for the types (do not confuse with userdefined)
