I found two Cyber Bullet External 56k modems, in a box with its AC adapter.

Just as a heads up to anyone thinking of messaging Adriaan privately, I noticed that the box for this modem is labeled as 230V.

You just need to change the included 220V AC adapter.

230V is correct for use in Netherlands / Europe.
It's also correct for Australia and really want 2 set up a simple modem to ATA network like in the video below Shipping 1/2 way around the world makes no sense though

Monitor powers on but has no picture. It is detected by the PC and the power light turns from orange to green indicating that it is receiving a signal from the PC. It just does not display anything and I also cannot get the menu to come up.

Monitor powers on and shows a display (see photo). However, the picture is "jumpy" and gets worse after some use.

I had a monitor when it was a kid that used to get jumpy like that. I wound "fix" it by giving it a tap with my palm on the side. This went on for some time until it started to require firmer, more frequent abuse, graduating to a fist and a very hard thwack! It's kind of funny to think back and imagine myself going ham on the monitor every time it did this.

My parents eventually got tired of the banging and took me to an electronics store to buy a replacement. My mother asked the salesperson of we could keep the old monitor to open up and tinker with (I guess there was a trade-in or recycling program). I recall seeing him turn white at the thought, then explaining very carefully to NEVER disassemble a computer monitor. This guy probably saved my life!

It's quite likely just a solder joint though on one of the bigger components, broke from heat cycling. I love retro stuff but I will never attempt to repair a CRT. I do not trust that I won't make a fatal mistake around high voltage electronics. I've slipped absentmindedly into contact with my soldering iron often enough to know my limitations.

As long as they are discharged properly, you shouldn't have to worry. And that's where having a healthy amount of respect/fear regarding high voltage isn't a bad thing, since you'd be more likely to take proper precautions.

It's those who don't have respect/fear for high voltages that I would think would be more at risk for an accident.

It's not the voltage that kills. It's the current flowing through the living body.

Yeah, I'm not real concerned with the high voltage (I'm familiar with the CRT discharge procedure and have done it before), it's just that I don't have the repair knowledge or time to commit to learning it. Terminating wires and replacing motherboard capacitors is about the extent of my soldering skills. I know there are people out there who do CRT repair for a hobby or for their YouTube channel, so before I dispose of these, I thought I'd post them in as many places as I could to see if someone would save them. I love CRTs for retro gaming and I know they are becoming harder to obtain.
