I was wondering what you could be driving that would cause you to detonate a DAC. That would also explain the fuse and external power input on the inner edge.

It's not just the frequencies.
MDA,CGA & EGA all output TTL signal levels 5V (If I recall correctly)
While VGA is analog output max signal level is 0.7V maybe 1V.

Ouch, if so and probably yes, I spent money on a cable that will be of no use, honestly I didn't know this Volt thing, at this point the only solution is a 9-15 pin converter, I've seen one used in Necroware, I don't know what it costs but the alternative to that is a VGA ISA 8 bit like trident or gremlin.

Just got the one on the right, it's a bit special!

Is that trackball actually wireless? I see it has some radio like logo next to the ball, but also what looks like a cord? And wouldn't "WIRELESS" be written all over the box?

Decided to add another 486 board that fills a gap, I have both ISA and PCI 486 boards but dont have a board that has VLB, so I picked up a dataexpert-exp8046 that has all three slot types along with supporting 3.3 and 5 volt CPUs. Its been modded with the Dallas RTC battery mod which is good.

I think I may end up using this one as my daily 486 board, seems it'll handle pretty much any socket 3 CPU I have here along with being able to take a wider range of cards so it will make for a good PC to test cards in.

Comes with a nice AMD DX4-100 and 8Mb of ram too. Has anyone here got any experience with this board, if so how does it fair against the competition for tinkering with bus speeds and such?
