i'm using google traslator sorry

Hello

This is my hardware

• Cirrus Logic. CL-GD54M30-I-QC-A.
•PENTIUM 1 166MHZ MMX
•32MB RAM EDO.
•SOUND BLASTER VIBRA 16C CT2960 (working)
•PLACA BASE P5V30-B4 V2.1.

I recently installed an awe32 and it is not recognized by win95 or win98 with their drivers and apparently not even by the hardware. This was used years ago on another PC and worked without problems.

When i touch the EMU8000 chip it is very hot, but it does not burn.

I restored the default parameters of the BIOS, installed the drivers from the original win95 cd, changed the jumpers in all possibilities, disconnected the ram as well. On the first start with win95, already installed, win95 detected a port but never installed sound drivers.

Thanks

Do you know Unisound?

Press F8 when Windows starts, select option number 5 Command Prompt, and run unisound.com. Is there anything?

I had the same problem with this card.
All I had to do was to clean the ISA contacts with some alcohol. I think you can use contact cleaner like deoxit as well.

The Emu8k chip gets hot, I added a heatsink just for longevity of the card. But it's not necessary.

Hope you get it to run!

i386 16 ⇒ i486 DX4 100 ⇒ Pentium MMX 200 ⇒ Athlon Orion 700 | TB 1000 ⇒ AthlonXP 1700+ ⇒ Opteron 165 ⇒ Dual Opteron 856

More solutions?

Why not try the ones suggested so far and report back?

I am not entirely sure but I think if I don't first run CTCM, I don't see the card in win98se either.
This is my autoexec.bat part for the card. I am not using the default names and locations, so adjust this.
The part in the middle is the one you might need to have. You will have to run windows after you intitialized the card, because the cards settings are saved in the Windows directory and loaded during boot. If you want to change configuration with creative drivers, you need to go to windows once after you run ctcm and diagnose. But you could try Unisound instead.

SET MIDI=SYNTH:1 MAP:E MODE:0
SET SOUND=C:\UTIL\AWE32

C:\util\AWE32\ctcm
rem use for CT3980 PnP

C:\UTIL\AWE32\DIAGNOSE /s
C:\UTIL\AWE32\MIXERSET /p /q /SE:-
rem in mixerset use for CT3980 PnP: /SE:-
C:\UTIL\AWE32\AWEUTIL /S

Actually, installing the drivers should put them into autoexec.bat
