I want to build a early Asus 386 mashine, and share the progress here.
I found a Asus ISA 386C PQ !
I think the PQ has a better layout as the C, because the RAM and CPU are away from the ISA slots.
Also PQ comes with a soldered 386 DX33, what i think is perfect cpu for the time.
So this would be a 33MHz build.
About OS what was it back than? DOS 5.0?
For the RAM, i have fast 4x4 MB Sticks. Should i upgrade the cache?
This is my first 386 build i will do, so im open for suggestions!
When it comes to "time correct build" im fine with it, but PSU should be new one with -5v voltage blaster and AT/ATX adapter.
Im atm not really sure what ISA cards i should go for. I think as SPU a Soundblaster PRO?
What do you guys think?
