Totally agree. No need to use ataenab as the Cardsoft has all necessary drivers. Let alone ataenab/cbata are paid tools, trial versions have an annoyig delay and work for two weeks only.
Well there probably is one benefit from most people's perspective which is that ataenab being newer means it can work with larger Compact Flash cards like 1GB or 4GB cards. That's something that early versions of cardsoft and some PCMCIA controllers don't do very well, but later versions of cardsoft for DOS should solve that.
I know that the Toshiba card manager software got an update to the ATA driver in 1995 that makes it work well with larger CF cards.
