A batch of goodies to come my way:

- 2x ABIT AB9 Pro (i965?)
- ABIT BH6 (440BX)
- various RAM
- MSI H61M-P20 (G3)
- Soltek SL-65LIV-T (PLE133T)
- Intel D815EEA (i815)
- Apple OEM Rage 128 Pro, P/N 109-63000-00 - anyone know a PC BIOS that works with this card?
- Mecotek MK-694V3 (aka Luckystar 6VA694, the non-plus variant w/ DIPswitches)
- Gigabyte GA-6VA (VIA 693/596)
- DFI P2BLX Rev A (440LX)
- Azza PT-5VMD (MVP3) - might be a candidate for a cache transplant from my dead K6BV3 🤣, I don't mind using a 1MB chip on it if it'll support it.
- Soltek SL-65KIV2 (694X) - interesting lil' board w/ISA 😀

"Enter at your own peril, past the bolted door..."
Main PC: i5 3470, GB B75M-D3H, 16GB RAM, 2x1TB
98SE : P3 650, Soyo SY-6BA+IV, 384MB RAM, 80GB

Found this on Facebook marketplace. $150 and a 2-hour round trip. LITERALLY the only reason I have FB is marketplace and the IBM PS/2 owners group. (It's a private IBM circle-jerk) Speaking of jerks, I had to clean myself up after I pulled out the memory board. 16x ECC 128mb 72-pin SIMMS for a total of 2048mb. (in the gallery)

I'll make a separate thread about this absolute unit. I'm going to service the power supplies before I just ram the angry pixies into them. The PSUs show signs of heavy use (dusty) so its likely the RIFAs are going to pop like firecrackers if I just plug her in.

Holy fudge, that's cool. I won't ask why the roll of toiletpaper is only on one picture ... 🤣

If it's dual it's kind of cool ... 😎

I'll probably never have as cool stuff as Bob, but this is kinda cool, when I get them modded for dual Coppermine action and popped in my Asus P2B-DS with 1024 MiB of memory and a pair of 1.1 GHz 100Mhz CPUs which is already in the drawer ... 😎

Gonna test run them with a couple of 933s at 100 MHz first though, to not fry the 1100s

Also need to figure out some cooling, as there's not much room between the slots ...

If it's dual it's kind of cool ... 😎

I still can't believe this... I got my hands on a very clean, error free, Compaq Prolinea 4/50 for $100 Canadian dollars.

In my roster, this PC is going to cover the 1988-1992 era... I'll probably try to install MS-DOS 5.1 with DirectAccess 5.1 menu system. I'll be adding my Audician32 Plus with a WavetablePi and increase RAM to 16Mb. I might try to add a 5.25 floppy drive if prices could stop skyrocketing.

I love these little Prolineas for some reason even though they stand for everything I hated back in the day. I have a 3/25zs so no extra drive bays at all.

Has this happened to you? You spot a beige rectangular something somewhere and immediately think "Is that an abandoned computer?" only to get a good look and realize it's actually an abandoned microwave...

And speaking of that, it has occurred to me that this hobby of playing with/working on old computer hardware probably seems as strange to many outsiders as collecting old toasters or microwave ovens would.

After watching many YouTube videos about older computer hardware, YouTube began recommending videos about trains - are they trying to tell me something?

Oldschool SFF, LPX, proprietary and cramped form factors are not so "scary" any more. There is no worries about if/how you can upgrade them in the future, because that future has already happened as far as their potential goes. You are not "stuck" with it as a large investment sole PC that you need to get a few years out of. Many tips and wrinkles, hacks and mods have been figured out in the intervening years. Modern storage is massive, you don't need to worry about adding another 3.5 HDD year on year as your storage needs expand, so don't really care about internal drive bays beyond one or two. Worried you'll need the full 19" slot length to expand the graphics at all? It didn't really happen, there was always shorter cards, unless you wanted top of the range monster, but you know what, the half the size midrange from following gen does just as well.

Anyway, they won't suit the people who wanna get 5 soundcards in one box or things like that, but for building a set configuration, they are fine, even desirable because they often take up half the space of an AT or ATX standard lump. It's also more fun with the artificial constraints to try to "build them out to the limit" to see what the most you could do with it was, you have to get more inventive, creative... devious.

I would not recommend them for beginner retro machines, by choice, better to learn the ropes on a "standard" XT, AT or ATX format and cased machine or two. However, should you have your old one, or get given one, or find one at pocket change pricing, then while they might lead to extra bumps in the learning curve, they can still be worth it. Well known brands usually have enough information online these days to prevent extreme frustration in getting them to do anything.

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

that's because its paper towels. And I needed to use them to clean up the mess I made when I pulled out that fully loaded memory board.

Not sure on the production date, ill have to look at the back of the card, when I get home. I do believe its early 2000.
It does have standard clocks, 120Mhz Gpu, 150Mhz Ram. Posted a 3D Mark 2001 SE 3,501 Score.

Very nice card. I only have 32MB versions. Still looking for a 64MB 😀
But.... i have a 16MB GeForce 256 SDR which is weird and not very common. With lower clock than standard.

The 3d glasses are kinda cool too but more of a novelty rather than useful.

I tested the ELSA Revelator glasses that were bundled with a GeForce 2.
Results vary depending on games.
Generally HUDs break the immersion because the appear in the front and you have to focus your eyes on the text to read it, then focus again to the game.
Games without HUDs are fine

I assume that was in response to my post? Anyway, if so, I'm not complaining about lack of expandability. Back when the Prolinea 3/25 and similar were new I wouldn't have bought one because while they are cute, they are proprietary and have little expansion. Today, it doesn't matter to me if they are expandable/proprietary or not. For me it's a novelty and they already are limited simply due to their age. But all this is what makes them interesting.

Does it also have a 64 or 32 Bit Memory bus?? instead of 128Bit?

Normal 128bit according to GPUZ (https://retro.user-unfriendly.net/Parts ... apture.PNG)

110/143 MHz but it overclocks to normal clocks without issues (even a bit beyond iirc). I posted a YT video of this card for GPUJune2 some years ago.

It was defective when i got it. With a greenish image. But i was able to fix that in the oven 😁

Some pictures of it : https://retro.user-unfriendly.net/Parts ... /pictures/

Nanah nanah nanah nanah, nanah nanah nanah nanah Trackman!

Yup it's BW showing off his baller stuff again.. trackballer

This one is in nice shape looks barely used, in contrast to my other which was a bit well worn and crufty. Unfortunately the mouseport adapter, disk, and paperwork are missing. However, having the mouseport mode at leasts let you wire it up if you need it, also think I got a weirdy thing that does MP thru the 9 pin. I think I am up to 3 mouseport devices for 3 ports now.

Been chasing this one for about a year and a half.. Finally caught one for a bargain price(Under $50.)Not amazingly rare but kinda hard to find in good working condition, with the platinum designation.

Awesome find! I have the non platinum brother of that card ... felt like i hit the jackpot getting it for around 30 bucks. Would have been awesome if it was a platinum card like yours though.

It looks really clean ... probably hardly ever used. The copper is still shiny aswell.
