I'm using a Longer LK5 Pro for large PLA prints, and my super old Powerspec 3D Pro for ABS prints.

The prints below are with Jessie Amiga 500 color PLA.

Printed a floppy housing + Gotek 3.5" bay tray on Chrismas day.

And printing this right now.. Baby-AT case I designed in Sketchup yesterday. It is just the front panel. The 5.25" + 3.5" bay holder that mounts to it is almost done too -- I just need to get the screw hole placement put in the 3D model. Size is roughly 275mm tall by 175mm wide. The back side has holes for 10mm 6-way cube mounts that will be super glued in place, then lexan/acrylic will be what the rest of the case is made from. It should hopefully go together pretty easy.

It printed nice.. however a few of my dimensions are a millimeter or two off. Need to revise the design slightly, then it will all fit.

During Black Friday you could a solid 3D printer for €168 (Artillery Genius) so it's really not THAT expensive. I print stuff all the time - only thing I've yet to find is a filament that has just the right colour of beige to fit a standard PC case. I got close though but it's a little too reddish.

Microcenter had the Creality Ender 3 Pro for $99 just before Chrismas. I picked up my Longer LK5 Pro (300x300x400mm prints) for $188 shipped on Aliexpress's 11/11 sale. They're definitely cheap these days. I paid around $700 for my PowerSpec 3D Pro back in 2014 or so.. 🤣.

This is a yes. I have many things to share with you all!! I'll start with the MAIN REASON I bought a 3D printer: Lian-Li Face Clips.

I came across a couple of sweet cases, but they were missing the power supply bracket (two hole version, will share, too) and just as important: all the face clips were broken. They were 5 bucks , so hell yeah, I'm grabbing them. I realized how unusable they were when I got them home and was saddened, as I had many boards needing a good home. It was then I ran down to the store, bought a Creality Ender-3 V3SE and some printer fuel. Soon as I got home I downloaded the software to see what file type it needed (should've done that first). STEP is the ONLY file I could export that would be usable by Creality Print (5.1). STLs come into Print not-to-scale.
I only had one half of the female side of the clip, but I was able to recreate it quite accurately. The Male side was easy, though getting them out of the face breaks the originals. I recently needed the Males for a case I got last week, so that was more recent.

They fit VERY WELL, in EVERY PC60 variant I've put them in AND work in the X500, so I'm going to assume, if it looks like this, this is the one.

I was working on sorting my memory yesterday and decided this is pretty much finalized: A Memory Rack (of sorts).

I was starting to have memory on every surface AND barfing out the drawer, so I decided to hit the work computer and cook up something cool.

It holds quite a bit of memory. I would like to note, though, I didn't measure a "tall" memory, so none of those.

Luckily, personally, I only have three of them and they are SD. The heatsink memory doesn't fit either. Again, only three, so I'm good, but I might make a "performance" DDR2 tray and DDR3 to hold memory with heatsinks.

I know this thread wasn't created with "request a 3D printed part" in mind, but if anyone has access to one of the incredibly rare CD-ROM (caddy) drive bezels for the IBM PS/2 Model 90, the community (well... I 🤣 ) really need a printable model to for it. I wouldn't have the faintest idea of how to make a model from scratch that looked right and fit correctly, so perhaps if someone had physical access to one it would make reproduction a lot easier.

As you hinted, it is next to impossible to make such design without good measurements of EVERYTHING and original parts are rare. But you don’t need the original part, but the ability to solve the requirements to making working substitute. However, it is mandatory to have the possibility to print drafts, testing those prototypes and adjusting tolenrances so that it actually fits like it is supposed to, that is test everything on a real machine.

And if that is close, it may a good starting point to work on making the design needed. That isn’t that complex of an object to design, so you won’t need CAD superskills with it, but you need to start learning. There are countless of learning videos for most popular CAD software in YT.

I recently found these Industrial Lian-Li cases and learned something: There are at least TWO different male clips... These cases need a piece that is a bit longer. I'll have that here, just incase this case is more common than I think.

Made a 5.25" bezel to house 2 USB connectors (Bulgin PX0843/a which can be separated from the big, round housing and plug in here)

Anyone in luck finding some beige PLA filament? Or is painting still the way to go.

I'll share both STL and Fusion files, if anybody wants (it could be ½-1 mm narrower, I guess - or it may be my printer not being trimmed properly.
