I'm trying to play Blood with CD music, and while it works fine in version 0.74, the music doesn't loop. In SVN, the music loops, but the sound quality is poor. If I reduce the sample rate to below 48,000 (even 47,999), the music sounds fine, but the sound effects become distorted.

I've tried ripsaw8o8o's fix (bcdfix.com) for version 0.74 regarding this issue, but since he said he only tested on v1.11, I presume it doesn't work for v1.21, or at least I can't get it to work. I also tried his other fix (ctrloop.com), but that didn't work either.

How can I either improve the CD audio quality in SVN or get 0.74 to loop the CD music correctly?

The threads I got the fixes from:

PS - I'm ashamed to admit I don't know how to rename links. <deep sigh>

Nevermind. I edited some sound values in my Dosbox config file and it's fine in SVN now.

The reason I was doing this is because I edited the cue file to use sc55 ogg recordings of all the 12 midis, and then I edited BLOOD.INI to point to all the new track numbers (CBLOOD10=13, ect.)

Perfect music on the dos version, beautiful.

I have also discovered the beauty of setting Blood's sound to 32 voices, 16 bit mixing, and 44khz. On top of changing the resolution to 640x480.

I'm thinking of changing the controls to wasd+mouse (even though I find the original layout easier for 90s shooters), just to show how well this game has aged. Got the difficulty fix for loading saves too (though I only play Lightly Broiled and don't save much, just in case)

I'm sharing this in case anyone else wants to see how great you can make the base blood.
