Also I'd rather not mess with code I don't really understand.

The CPU load is 10% higher on my Ryzen with Houston and Reyn1999.

Usually it's at 20%. With the combo it's at 30%.

Also why is a Ryzen 2700X Dosbox slower in this test than your i5 3450 @ 3.1 GHz? That's an older CPU and probably has comparable IPC to Ryzen 1.5.

i already explained you that here:
Re: RReady (Rendition Verite wrapper) Test Build (Alpha 1)
😉

Using my own quote against me! Higher IPC it is then. I wonder how feasible it is to multi-thread dosbox's cpu emulation. The dynamic core maybe.

How do you run this? It looks to be a Dosbox CPU emulation speed issue.

I *might* as well look into getting Speedy3D support into QEMU with my own patch or fork. That should be much, much faster.

All the RReady command queue issues look to be a dead end. No matter what I do the Houston+Reyn1999 won't run any faster than 16-17 fps with 32 cars on screen.

On original hardware the V1000 runs at 9 fps and the V2200 at 10 fps and the P4 is faster in the Dhrystone benchmark than in Dosbox-Rendition on my Ryzen. Sandy Bridge i7 2600 + GTX660 runs at 9 fps.

I did that, but it wouldn't decompress. 7 zip produced an error, as did win11's built in tool.

you have to remove .zip sufixes from all the files so they look this way:
qemu_710_glide.zip.001
qemu_710_glide.zip.002
qemu_710_glide.zip.003
qemu_710_glide.zip.004
qemu_710_glide.zip.005
qemu_710_glide.zip.006
qemu_710_glide.zip.007
qemu_710_glide.zip.008
the last file is 247 273 bytes
all other files are 5 000 000 bytes

you extract qemu_710_glide.zip.001
the rest will be extracted automatically if they are in the same folder

the result of extracting above 8 files will be
qemu_710_glide7z.7z
35 247 101 bytes

the result of extracting above 1 file (qemu_710_glide7z.7z) will be
qemu_710_glide.7z
35 556 932 bytes

i used 7zip from here https://7-zip.org/

I tried that earlier and I got a decompression error. I'll try again tomorrow. Can't right now.

Ok unzipped it. I must've done something really stupid before.

run_qemubat.exe triggers a lot of cloud security scans and after about 3 mins, the console window just dies. The console window dies immediately in subsequent runs. There's no indication that any files were zapped.

I did try that, didn't know what CD it was expecting. There was a VMDK.
So I pointed it at a FreeDOS flash drive and I got this:

Failed to open the HAX device!
Open HAX device failed
Failed to get Hax capability:6u
No accelerator found.
use_qemu_bat. exe: -accel hax: failed to initialize hax: Invalid argument

Press any key to continue

any CD: real or virtual
or just hit enter for .iso from the folder

intel haxm acceleration is for intel cpus only
on amd cpus you have to choose whpx (which is slower) from the menu
