It would be really funny if they follow through with the planned EOL in October 2025 with such large install base. Could probably motivate a lot more people to try Linux.

probably stoopid question but can you change an excisting 10pro key with an LTSC one? (so the installation remains the same)

There are (somewhat complicated) ways to do it, though I'm not sure how well that works. Never tried it myself, but here's a video of someone else going through the process.

A clean installation is usually recommended when using Windows 10 LTSC, which is what I did.

PC#1: Pentium MMX 166 / Soyo SY-5BT / S3 Trio64V+ / Voodoo1 / YMF719 / AWE64 Gold / SC-155
PC#2: AthlonXP 2100+ / ECS K7VTA3 / Voodoo3 / Audigy2 / Vortex2
PC#3: Core 2 Duo E8600 / Foxconn P35AX-S / X800 / Audigy2 ZS
PC#4: i5-3570K / MSI Z77A-G43 / GTX 970 / X-Fi

yeah I thought it would not be as easy as selecting the "change product key" option 🤣
thanks for the info , will also go for a complete re-install

That's exactly what happened with Windows 7, XP and 98. I have yet to witness a mass migration to Linux.

Gigabyte GA-8I915P Duo Pro | P4 530J | GF 6600 | 2GiB | 120G HDD | 2k/Vista/10
MSI MS-5169 | K6-2/350 | TNT2 M64 | 384MiB | 120G HDD | DR-/MS-DOS/NT/2k/XP/OBSD
Dell Precision M6400 | C2D T9600 | FX 2700M | 16GiB | 128G SSD | 2k/Vista/11/Arch/OBSD

Well, not mass migration, but the percentage of Linux users is steadily growing thanks to Valve. Windows 10 EOL is an interesting sucker punch due to Windows 11 requirements.
