Just pinging both of you as mkarcher helped me figure this out (we think) Re: Getting cache working on this 486 board

Thanks ! That is all very helpful info. I never did get the cache thing fully worked out but now think I can knowing what the tag sockets actually need.
The picture from the blog with 2 x Winbond W2465AK-15 tags have exact pinout and specs as the Samsung KM6865BP-15 that someone told me about back a few years ago in other forum but never could find any or might have fixed it already.
Thanks !

Be careful, as those two numbers are 8Kx8 chips and we believe U43 is 8Kx9, so the board in the blog (which is a different model number) either is wired differently such that two 8Kx8 work, or perhaps there was a mistake in preparing the blog.

Yes I did see that but I can waste $15 to find out. OTOH I don't see why they would require one chip to be 8kx9 when all other cache chips can be x8 if jumpers are set to x8. The logic of that alludes me 😀

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun
