"Best laptop of 1990s"? T43 wasn't until 2005. I'm sure the late 90s Thinkpads were all cursed with NeoMagics... 1999 Presarios at least had Q3-playable Tridents in them.
Actually, My First laptop was a 14-inch Sony Vaio with Pentium-3 and Windows-98 back in 1990's
These were Very popular in California, USA computer stores because they had allot of features. software, and affordable.
Not many stores sold the IBM Thinkpad but the Sony Vaio was everywhere.
I used the Vaio until I got to use My First IBM Thinkpad theT42 with Windows-2000.
After that I sold my Vaio and used only Thinkpads which you could Now purchase online at affordable prices.
Terrible photos taken with my first digital camera's "HP C30" and "Kodak DC290". ( Both of which I still have working )
Photo's of my IBM A21p Thinkpad and Sony Vaio.
