also tasmania games work only in 320x200
even destruction derby (virge) works only in 320x200

Magic carpet has a static linked cgl library. I don't know whether the cgl version looked any better.

actually if we talk about cgl games they all work in 640x480 in dosbox in either 3dfx or software
and probably all work in 4k with dosbox+dgvoodoo/duckstation/sega_emu/remasters
flight unlimited is probably the only not working in 4k game 😉

actually all tasmania games on both covers of same issue and the reviewers never heard about that card in their lives 😉 and probably will not hear at all 😉

There's another version of Rebel Moon with different graphics *I think* that came out the year before. I think that doesn't run on anything other than the 3DB VLB.

for example NASCAR Racing 1 (NV1 version) is for Windows
so you maybe would have less slow cpu/not enough system memory problems like in cart racing (but of course card is still 4mb max only) for modded tracks/carsets

Battle Arena Toshinden (nv1) is also for windows (so would be faster than dosbox/console emu)

Virtua Cop (nv1) windows would probably also be faster and allow the use of a mouse for aiming

actually all nv1 games are for windows so all will be faster than sega emu/ps emu/dosbox

i have modded that version to RMpci engine and also to windows engine so it works in software fine if i remember correctly (320x200)
and in rendition (with buggy many door/elevators (moving walls) textures- rather annoying
-a least on a first level, haven't tried further play)

though i have to say the vlb version is very nice as it has only small maps levels
pci version added huge, easy to lost in maps - so depends who prefers what.

Deus Ex iw and thief deadly shadows work. They're d3d 8 (pixel shader 1.1) as well. The sdk demos from the Dx8 sdk don't work.

I have tested also Ford racing 2 d3d8 game and it works

edit: nfs hot pursuit 2 d3d8.1 works well with windows 24 h2 last update and nvidia rtx2060

I proceeded to reinstall Windows, and all D3D8 apps work now. I also got the "problematic" update, but this time it didn't cause the havoc
