Just read that thread and ..well that was a rather terse discussion quickly silenced by the mod.

My feeling is if you cant buy and sell hardware here then by rights you should also not be able to buy and sell services here, now if you want to do both of these via DMs privately then sure have at it but its a very slippery slope if they start allowing one but not the other they both have the same downfalls and problems.

Self promotion is also not allowed here so the allowance of buying and selling of services seems very odd when looking at the rules for the other two.

This really needs to be clarified by the owner of Vogons as it should be a complete blanket policy of no selling/advertising here of anything.

For clarity this is not about if people should or should not be paid for services, people should be compensated for their time and expertise but Vogons should not be a place to facilitate that much like its not a place to facilitate selling hardware items.

This has nothing to do with this giveaway thread and feipoa was replying to a post from almost two months ago that was already off topic... and it was relating to a comment in a thread that had already been derailed. If this needs to be discussed, then I would recommend either making a thread in Milliways or just private messaging the moderators in question.

This is exactly what DosFreak said at the end of the discussion that people keep derailing this thread with. If this is really that big of an issue, make a thread about it and ask for clarification. No sense making drama in unrelated threads.

No point in messaging mods, they cant clarify this, they just enforce the rules not make them, but yes not in this thread.

I wont derail any further.

Hi,

I have a Matrox Millennium 576-05 Rev. B (Compaq OEM version) that I have no use for and so would like to give it to someone versus the trash can. It has been tested.

ebay etc is too much of a hassle. There is no RAM extension attached, so it is the base 2MB model

If you have any questions, please ask. I live in the UK so no idea what shipping might be like to another country. Otherwise, it is free

512MB PC2-3200U-333-12-D3 DDR2

2GB PC3-10600 DDR3 (x2)

I'm interested. What'll shipping be within the UK?

If it's dual it's kind of cool ... 😎

If that is exactly what your card looks like, then it is the 4MB version. The 2MB one only has 2 WRAM chips. If your card had a 4-chip expansion it would be 8MB total.

Now for some blitting from the back buffer.

Inspect Element shows that it actually links directly to the dosdays image 😜

Hi H3nrik V!

I'm sorry , I can not reply to your DM yet - too new. If you can send me a postcode, I will find out the shipping. Royal Mail 2nd class looks like 3 to 4 quid.

Bunch of CD and DVD optical drives.
The black one is SATA. The rest are IDE.
The TDK candy plastic one is 40/24/40 or something like that.
Also, throwing in a ATX mini PSU since it is still lingering around with no purpose.

Is the TDK drive still available?
