Hi, I can't get the sound card to work on this motherboard. It works fine on a socket 7 motherboard. It's not detected here. Does anyone have any ideas?

There are two replacements for ESSCFG:

1. another version of ESSCFG, you can try these:

Did you disable the "Onchip sound" in the Advanced setting in BIOS ? just curious....

Yes Onchip is off but still dosent work, esscfg 5.1 and 5.2.

What about UNISOUND ?

And what about any software that lists ISA PNP devices? BIOS, HWINFO, Windows 9x ?

Are you sure the ISA slot is OK?

OK, it works. I cleaned the card's contacts with a cloth and it started working. I also cleaned the ISA port with isopropyl alcohol.
