This is the second post about Teamspeak in old computers, I honestly wanted to edit the entire stuff I did in my previous post, but I couldn't ,then I guess it was the best to delete the old one and make a new post improving the amount of details I did previously.

First of all this project was made with passion for old retro PCs prior to Windows 98 and XP, to easily serve to communicate and share what people wants at most. Keep in mind, if you want of course, you don't need to be dependent from the server mentioned and instead you can host an independent server yourself and share your own things. But I want to provide a server for everyone to join and be a HUB of people that own Retro PCs to connect and discuss about. Both servers majority of the times are empty and not a lot of people join in, so you can easily join with a friend and having a good time over there, no matter the country you're from. The server was designed to be compatible with old PCs, but it doesn't mean it can only be used to connect old machines, both TS3 and TS2 can run in modern Windows and Linux as well.
In order to make it work and to be compatible with the machines mentioned, the server needed to be run in an older version for both server and client. Although there's no harm for the user be running an older version, I just have to ask to please, if you want to exploit the server or try a DDOS attack, do that to the official Teamspeak 3 servers instead. The server was made to easily connect PCs over the world and also to facilitate communication between old retro gamers, so if you want to target people, it would be more worth it doing in those servers instead, believe me...
I'm also archiving a lot of Teamspeak 3 customization things such as: skins, soundpacks, overlays and etc (more than 400 customizations were archived already). These can be used in any Teamspeak 3 version. For plugins only certain TS3 versions are accepted to use it, but everything is in a specific order to make sure you're downloading the compatible version for your client. To access these files you need to be a "Regular" user in the server, in order words you need to actively join the server from time to time and then you will become a regular user in no time. More customizations and plugins can be added monthly, so if you have any suggestions contact the staff of the server. The customization items are getting stored in the "Shu - Dev/Owner" channel.
I'm archiving SDKs and developer tools to integrate Teamspeak on Unreal engine, Unity and create your own plugins and skins. Again, you need to be a "regular" user in order to access these files. But they are also available to download, meaning you still can integrate your homebrew apps or make a skin for an older version of Teamspeak 3 in mind, which in my opinion can be pretty cool and I support the idea for it.

The server I'm providing doesn't use any method to bypass slots. Yes the default TS3 without a license is limited to 32 slots and there's nothing you can do about it since Teamspeak as a company doesn't provide or support old licenses to buy, therefore, if you see an older version of the server like "3.0.13.8" and below out there, and the server have more than 32 slots, It's using a hacked license and you should NOT engage with the server because the intention of the owner could be malicious. The right thing to do is report the server to support@teamspeak.com instead (Yes! In 2025 they still receive reports).

The server in this post complies with the Teamspeak license, so even they can't take it down if you are using the server legally and responsibly.

Note: Because the server requires an older version of the client, this Teamspeak 3 version is incompatible with the latest Teamspeak 3, 5 and 6 versions. If you try to connect using any latest version, it won't allow you to join in!
If you want to talk with me directly you can either connect into one of these old servers or join my TS6 server typing 'Retros' in search bar on TS6 or in the address field on TS3.

Release Notes

! This is the last release with support for Windows Vista
+ Added possibility to overwrite Qt style icons with custom iconpacks
+ Added tooltips over client and channel items in server tree
+ Added support for SVG Tiny 1.2 (static only, no animations) icons. Most
icons are no longer hardcoded to fixed size 16x16.
+ Replaced included default_mono and default_colored iconpacks with SVG icons.
Iconpacks with PNG icons are still supported, so existing third-party
iconpacks continue to work. We encourage third-party iconpack authors to
update their iconpacks with SVG icons.
+ Overhauled icons in most windows for improved support for high dpi monitors.
* Updated Qt to 5.6.2 on Windows and macOS
* Updated Visual Studio C++ runtime on Windows to 14.0.24215 (MSVC 2015-3)
* New default style for infoframe based on "Improved Default" by Sven Paulsen.
* Removed old default/modern/classic styles.
* Rewrote translation mechanism for infoframe styles. Translations now come
from lagos_xx.qm and are filled by C++, so multiple language templates are
no longer necessary. However, for legacy style support, language templates
will be loaded with priority. So if e.g. clientinfo_de.tpl exists, it will
be used. If not, clientinfo.tpl is loaded, which should contain the new
translatable placeholders.
* Updater no longer downloads banner from server, banner is now hardcoded in
executable. Dynamic banners currently not needed.
- Addon management UI now properly shows state when plugins failed to
initialize.
- Multiple minor fixes to recently overhauled hotkey system
- Fixed infinite password dialog in file browser when using cancel
- Multiple minor filetransfer fixes
- Uninstaller now automatically closes the client instead of showing dialog.
- Fixed some wrong icon names in default iconpacks, which caused these icons
to be loaded from fallback default.zip.
- Automatically clean null icons from icon cache when updating from 3.1.4
to 3.1.5 client. 3.1.4 might have downloaded SVGs which it cannot use, which
caused creation of an empty icon file.
- Fixed package installer crash on Windows 32-bit OS.
- Fixed length check in various nickname input fields. Trim whitespaces before
calculating length when doing validity checks.
- Added bandaids for misbehaving audio drivers on Windows
- Fixed possible Windows soundbackend crash reported by crashdumps
- Fixed possible spontaneous crash during client runtime.

Possible Issues & Solutions:

Installing both latest Teamspeak 3 and old Teamspeak 3 clients:

If you have latest Teamspeak 3 version, only one Teamspeak can be installed and opened at the time. The workaround for this is installing one version choosing "Recommended: Save in user own files" and in a specific folder location and for the other Teamspeak 3 installation "Save inside the installation folder" and in a different specific folder location.

How to block updating the client

Any older Teamspeak 3 version, It'll constantly ask to update, we recommend having a Firewall and block the 'update.exe' file, so you don't update it accidentally. The file is located in the main Teamspeak 3 folder. (Keep in mind the latest version is only compatible with Windows 7 and beyond and thus It's not compatible with this server)

Can I install both Teamspeak 6 and this old Teamspeak 3 client in a modern machine?

Yes! And It's very straight forward, since TS6 installs in a completely different folder in comparison to TS3. So there are no issues here, even the register path is completely different.
