Hi,

I have a Matrox Millennium 576-05 Rev. B (Compaq OEM version) that I have no use for and so would like to give it to someone versus the trash can. It has been tested.

ebay etc is too much of a hassle. There is no RAM extension attached, so it is the base 2MB model

If you have any questions, please ask. I live in the UK so no idea what shipping might be like to another country. Otherwise, it is free

Received now (had it sitting for some weeks at my friend's in the UK, so first at me now) 😀

As dfraser wrote - it's the 2 Meg version. Didn't work at first - but that was the switch "#2" that was set to "VGA DISABLE" .. Actually, first I thought it was "V-BIOS rot" as it worked in Windows GUI, but not in text mode. It seems that that particular issue didn't hit until the G-series cards though.

But running perfectly now, so thanks a lot! 😀 And it's an "R3" where the one I already had, was an "R2". No idea of the difference, though 🤣

If it's dual it's kind of cool ... 😎

Please use the "quote" option if asking questions to what I write - it will really up the chances of me noticing 😀

working AT keyboard, for a shipping price

Passed this along as a local pickup to Mike, who arrived on his rad e-bike. 🤙 I spoke to him for a bit and mentioned that I'd gotten it originally from the VOGONS forum and invited him to join us. Hopefully we'll see him here at some point.

Anyone in the Ottawa Ontario area looking for treasure? Have I got a deal for you.

I need to dispose of all my retro hardware that I've owned and used for the last 30+ years. We're talking 6 desktops loaded with memory, cpus, gpus, sound cards of the day, floppy drives, cd and dvd burners, two 17 inch crt monitors, probably 50+ big box pc games (with a few apple // games thrown in). Think early pentium 90, pentium 2, athlon 64, I think one of the machines is a celeron 300 oc'd to 450, that's something I did at one time. But most are under a fan, and I'm not removing them to check. One of the machines is not so retro, an i7 6700k cpu / gtx 1070 machine from 2016.

Some of the cases are old beige ones, others fairly recent high end glossy black Antec and Define. Some of the other hardware is: asus a8v deluxe mb, micron millenia an430tx mb, stealth 3d 2000 pro video, msi 9800 pro video, geforce 2 sh pro mx video, canopus pure 3d II video card, soundblaster live, audigy 2 zs, ensonic soundscape. Many items have original boxes, cds, floppies, and manuals. There's also boxes and boxes of ribbon cables, case screws, accessories, and some of those cds and manuals (ie, not everything is in its proper place).

These were my daily use machines since the mid 90s, every time I bought a new machine I kept the old one figuring I'd do retro stuff one day. 95% of this was fully working, with the caveat that it's been years since these were tested. They've just been gathering dust since I never really did do the retro stuff I planned on. Two of the computers went "pop" and I bought a new one instead. Maybe the motherboard went, maybe the power supply, I didn't bother to figure out what part caused the machine to stop working because it was time for an upgrade.

All of this is heavy. I'm old and it practically killed me just getting some of this out of storage, and I'm not done yet. I'm not going to ship them anywhere. It's local pickup, or it will sadly be going to the local electronic waste dump in early August. Be prepared to make multiple trips, unless you own a moving van (lol).

I really want this to end up in the hands of someone who will appreciate it. Hopefully there's someone local.

I've been in similar situations twice in the past 10 years. (Didn't want to ewaste it but same time not invest too much time into selling it off individually)
First was post of CRT's here, Somewhat of a success as 2 out of 10 screens were collected by people on vogons.

Second was a van and a half of old PC's, servers, misc hardware. Basically I was selling stuff of individually but had ran out of time.

In both cases I managed to get rid of it on Facebook. I don't really use Facebook but as it's marketplace is more local your more likely to find someone to collect.
But I do hope someone here jumps on what looks like an amazing haul
