I have a humble Sonic Buster 8 Review on my website, which includes audio recordings, for any prospective buyers.

Overall, it's a fantastic piece of hardware.

The card is 99 eur + 9 eur shipping

Nice card and very decent price! Don't need one atm but will definitely buy one if I get my hands on another 286 or so.

I bought one over the weekend, but obviously it hasn't arrived yet. I may put it in a IBM PS2 Model 30-286 that currently has an Adlib clone.

A new batch of Sonic Buster 8 is available

For the sake of the original SB 2.0 compatibility a DMACTL jumper was added to switch DMA sharing on and off.

For more info go to Sonic Buster 8 home page

This comes probably as close as it gets but there is a gap still to be filled: a Sound Blaster Pro (1) clone supporting stereo OLP2. YM3812 chips still seem to be out there (powering AdLib clones), and a good handful of games only supported stereo FM that way. I have a Roland and typically prefer it (especially for sound effects), but I suspect some of my MicroProse games were composed specifically for dual-OPL2.

I for one would not mind if it came in a sort of double OPL2LPT form. FMonster was supposedly going to support it but that project appears to be in limbo. I suspect one big challenge would be getting the proper mixing regulated between the chips.

Thanks root42 for Sonic Buster 8 review on YouTube!

Good video. Wicked card! Love it.

Side question, anyone know what jukebox he uses at the end of the video? I want it for my DOS machine. 🤣

Exactly! IMHO Tyrian has one of the best FM soundtracks ever. And sounds better in FM then in MIDI!

There's lots of people announcing hardware projects they developed and collecting feedback, etc. Any potential sales are always done outside of Vogons.

I'm embarrassed for you 😂

No-one's getting rich off hobbiest projects like this but they add so much joy to the community. If the creator can make their money back then its win-win.

Life? Don't talk to me about life.

the dude is literally saying to message him here to buy the card. it's a obvious violation to the rules. Im sure if I started posting links to old parts im selling for feedback it would be removed in seconds. it's one thing to ask for feed back and show off their work but anther to openly be selling the cards here.

if they can openly sell parts here, homemade or not then anyone should be able to post there stuff for sale.
