I've been buying old shows and toons I grew up watching in the 70's, 80's and early 90's.

So far, I've made it through Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! The Real Ghostbusters! Gi-Joe! Knight Rider! Quantum Leap! Airwofl! MacGyver! The Incredible Hulk!

Next up will be He-Man, Cheers, and The A-Team. 🤣

I just watched new episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful and Beyond the Gates (which premiered earlier this year). The latter will be headed towards its 100th episode on Tuesday! 😀

Now, I'll probably be watching baseball the rest of the way. ^^

Nice selection! Some might say buying physical copies is just buying slowly degrading media on fallible hardware... I however like to get DVDs when i can, they last a very long time mostly and can be imaged or digitised too. they are very cheap now and often perfect of tv shows and movies from back in the day. I really don't care about HD or 4k etc for these shows. Also, having the actual DVD might better, streaming services might drop some episodes or edit them to suit whatever.

Knight Rider remains a favourite even now 😀

Going back to the 90's sci fi shows - anyone like Tekwar? i missed that completely, I'll probably take a look, it seems kinda fun

I've got DVD's that are almost 30 years old (27'ish years?). All still in perfect shape. They will likely out live me, so I'm not worried. The world is flooded with players, so, they will still be around long after I'm gone. 🤣

Yeah, I'm fine with "DVD" quality as well. Oh, and Tekwar, amazing show! It's on my list! 😀

I've really been enjoying BoJack Horseman, a show I skipped back in the day. It’s laugh-out-loud funny most of the time, but by the third season, a few darker, heavier episodes start to creep in. These can really make you go yeesh and shake your head as you recognize some of BoJack's flaws in yourself. But you also get some totally unexpected episodes, like a particularly brilliant one that takes place entirely underwater, without an intelligible word spoken until the very end (this episode, iirc, also has some amazing music to go with it). Or, the episode consisting entirely of a single shot: BoJack giving a eulogy at a funeral.

The show really has an engaging storyline; several in fact, as most main characters have their own lore. With six seasons, the show has plenty of time to really develop them. Some seasons (or even certain episode arcs) focus on the struggles of supporting characters, not just BoJack. These shifts in perspective really do help to keep the show interesting and fresh. You even get to see some of the characters age as the story progresses (for example, BoJack's graying hair and Diane's weight gain); something you don't typically see in a cartoon. And I just love the goofy visual gags they put in the transition scenes, as well as Princess Carolyn's frequent bouts of alliteration. It's such a delightful show!

Oh, and ST:DS9 for the nth time. 👾
