Oh. One thing I am confused about are the pins. I'm struggling to decipher where each placement is. Especially as I've read that if I'm using a twist floppy cable, it needs to be set to MO...? There are currently two jumpers. One, I'm guessing, is set to SO by default...? The other looks to be at JA and JB, but I'm guessing those are set to Ground...?

I just want to make sure things are set correctly. Especially as I'll be getting a physical floppy drive to go with it and that I would like as the Master and the Gotek as the Slave.

No, and no. The lower jumper in your picture is set to S1. Per the wiki, this is correct for the IBM PC and sets it to drive ID 1, the same as a real floppy drive for use with PCs. The twist in the floppy cable essentially changes the ID of each floppy drive along the cable. With a straight-through cable, you'd have to set the ID jumpers of each floppy drive correctly (similar to IDE drives) and this is common practice on other platforms.

The wiki also says you need to set JC, not sure why your upper jumper is across J5 and JA. That could be why it didn't work until you copied an FF.CFG that probably contains the relevant interface = ibmpc line.

Ahhh, okay. Thanks. That clears it up some. Yeah, no idea why it's set across J5 and A. I don't believe I've touched these jumpers; had no reason to. So I get now where S0, S1, S2, and MO are, though I'm not sure about MOR.

I was more thinking of the sample picture on that Amiga page.
If my eyes don't play tricks on me, then there's too a jumper set between J5 and JA?

Ah, yes, indeed there is. The wiki doesn't mention such a setting, might be something specific to Retrosix.

Elsewhere on the wiki page, setting J5 (on its own) causes the ready signal (pin 34) to be permanently asserted (IBM 3174 section). JA is mentioned here as "Button: Select" and 3 times on the hardware mods page for connecting a button. So not sure what strapping a jumper across JA and J5 actually does, probably nothing in this case.
