I have finished my win 98 build und finally ran into a Problem (i guess). My GPU shows No vram size. I installed the Last catalyst 6.2 from philscomputerlab site. Installation without any Problems. It is a PCI variant If necessary.
Any ideas or hints?
What about the display properties? Try this driver.

Yes, but remove the currently installed driver first.

As i thought. No drivers for x850 in your linked package. Max is x600 series uncluded 🙁
I was able to Install 2006_january_4.15.1.9165_9x.zip from philscomputerlab. But manually without Setup. The Setup calls No "inf Driver was found". I have Seen every DLL File in this package Had an Unserscore _ right dl_ and coud Not find the Driver. I renamed them and Installation as Said only manually was possible. No i need controle Center or a way to install via Setup. I am confused.

So I've checked the AMD site for the driver, and it supports Windows 2000 and up. Also, read this topic.

The Radeon X850XT should work in win9x.
Is it just the VRAM count not working? are games working?

Radeons usually have two instances in device manager. Is there another GPU in the dropdown menu of HWInfo?
I will Check later and reply. I kmow in device Manager are two. Primary ans secondary
