Lemmings 2 Hangs on Install

Trying to install Lemmings 2 in pure DOS. It installs both discs fine to C:/L2 but then it gets to the point of creating the l2.ini file and it just hangs.

I’m on a Windows 98 machine using the Super Easy DOS loader and SB Live drivers from Phil’s site. Selected Sound Blaster as my audio and the default IRQ numbers.

Any suggestions?

Ah. Any way around it? I have the game files installed on my HDD, it’s just missing the ini file.

Hmmm, I remember this happened to me once. Can you try running the installer under a clean CONFIG.SYS/AUTOEXEC.BAT ? Also it wouldn't hurt to try and "SetMul.exe L1D" before running the installer.

If the above doesn't make a difference, then it's probably another manifestation of the large HDD issue of the game, though that usually results in the game running in demo mode only.. but the installer should go fine.
