It is difficult to say: the game obviously is not fit since it causes rampant memory corruptions, and on your case it may have started sooner than later.

Nice jab
For Deus Ex and Rune, if you have audio issues or crashes, try using the DSOAL (DirectSound OpenAL) wrapper. Just drop dsound.dll and the config file into the game folder. This fixed sound and restored EAX effects for me.

Can confirm that Journeyman Projects 2 and 3 have severe issues on Windows 11 24h2
JMAN 2 was added to ScummVM though, so there are workarounds for the entire series except 3

BIT95 Launcher executable no longer works, workarounds are available through running BIT2432. Mainly an issue for GOG users as for some reason GOG still routes to BIT95 as a shortcut executable (presumably to accommodate 8 bit color users??) constant crashes and freezes during cutscenes, transitions, and dialogue

not a 16 bit executable, and regardless there is a scummvm engine for it so it's not a major issue (unless you're a gog user who wasn't told)

Yes, I succeeded by downloading a new version of quicktime.qts (versions 4, 5, and 6 all work fine) and renaming it to QTFORJP3.DLL, which is the customized DLL used by the game and I replaced the old DLL with the new one.

2 and 3.
I've still got nowhere with the Volvo S40 racing. Motorhead works fine in Windows 10, sound-wise. But S40 Racing is a no-go, a small stutter sound that loops, sometimes.
I tried VMWare with Windows 98 and XP; 98 won't start and XP just black-screens (whether the CD-ROM version, the rip, and if using the 1.3 patch).
Are there any audio emualtors, as such? Like dgVoodoo2 for audio?
My PC spec: Win10 64bit, i7-4970K (not overclocked), KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER, Creative Soundblaster ZXr, 16GB RAM, Asus Z97-A motherboard, NZXT 410 case, ROG Swift GSYNC monitor
IndirectSound and DSOAL might feed some needs

Awesome thanks for that, I'd tried IndirectSound and got no difference, but DSOAL from https://github.com/kcat/dsoal/releases gets the sound back, finally!
Admittedly the menu and in-game sounds are pretty much identical to Motorhead, but it's great to have it making noise again!
