Lol, looks like it's actually Compaq N800w with fireGL 9000, not the 7500 one. The screen was swapped, but mb is from more powerful model.
Has anyone here ever managed to swap the cells of the batteries for new ones? The batteries of my compaqs hold very little charge now.
Anyone has Windows 2000 or XP recovery discs for N600c?
I recently got a late model N600c with 1.2 PIII Tualatin, and I only found a restore CD for Windows 98 SE, which I restored from and it works 😀
But I would prefer to restore the Win2K as the machine originally came with (has a COA).
Also it has 512MB of RAM which is perfect for Win2K.

Uploaded all disks I have. To restore compaq n400c or n600c you need disk 1 and 2.
Dont give up hope for the nc400c and its graphics. I have tested GTA VC and Unreal with Rage3 and 8MB, better worked D3D at Unreal for me and for Unreal even my Benchmark OpenGL settings worked if OpenGL selected, but it wont work for every game. Try Unreal D3D with 226f or 225f. Quake2 is very smooth with OpenGL Max and Fast settings. Thief 1 game should work ok, i havent tested it myself, but someone else did with my driver.

No chance for ATI M1 on my side. It might seem to work at first glance, but in detail, it's just not good. For example, in Thief, some polygons are missing on the bow – and who knows what else might be missing. The same issues come up with Unreal; I was never able to get it running properly, and there was always something not working right. So, I ended up selling all my M1 machines. Now, the earliest hardware I use is M6.
