I am currently using a Dell 2007FP IPS monitor for old games and I love it. But I was wondering if it can get any better. On Amazon and other pages you can see industrial 4:3 TFTs and they all advertise 75 Hz and fast response and IPS. The usually range between cheap 100 EUR and expensive 500 EUR (beetronic). Has anyone dared to test these new TFTs and if so, are they good?
Also, is it somehow possible to get OLED 4:3 screens? I mean retro gaming has come a long way and with all the newly produces hardware like dreamblaster, midi wavetables, gus cards with usb support, one might think this is the next logical step to have superb 4:3 OLED with 100+ Hz refresh rates. I guess that would have a lot of potential customers (console emulation, dos, windows 9x gaming,.. ). Also there is self service PCB building on the internet now so why not "customize your screen by selecting panel and frame"...
Interested to see if anyone has more information.
