The DL rate is OK for me as it is relatively stable @60-100 kb/s (unless I'm kick-banned), I'm mirroring another one which has quite unstable connection (sometimes goes down to single digit) and you have to check the exact size of what you've downloaded because sometimes files got corrupted during DL. This is driving you crazy and this one also has over 1 TiB. I already saved the most important stuff like early BIOSes.

Some FTP clients can allow increased download speeds by establishing multiple connections to download files in parallel or as multi-part chunks. This might not be advisable though if the sever is particular about throttling simultaneous connections or connections of long durations.

All this would seem pretty normal pre-2000, the server might have a 2 min idle timeout, Anonymous users have a 100MB per session cap, server only available in "business hours", admins logged in remote boot everyone because their download slow, Anon users booted if all 10 available connections required for registered users, etc etc.

I often have WinSCP running up to three, four, five times and it works...the rates stack up.

Maybe that is what finally caught their Asrock eye ? Multi-logins by same IP...

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

At the time I had been kicked, I only had on instance of WinSCP running on the ASRock FTP, so this couldn't be the reason. But I don't want to bother with it...I just try and maybe reconnect. The most important stuff (earlier BIOSes) is already downloaded.

I have to revoke this! In my "links list" there is the German page (http://www.medion.com/de/service/_lightbox/tr … iber.php?stxt=3) and this isn't archived by the Wayback Machine, unfortunately - so thanks for your link!

But I have another link and this page is still online ->http://www1.medion.de/downloads/?op=search&la … &imageField.y=5.

Hi just saw your reply, been offline for a while, i didnt check through your whole list so thought i'd post the link anyway on the off chance, if i remember correctly it's mainly bios files, hopefully it'll be of some use to some one, i was trying to find old drivers but even the wayback machine couldnt help in that regard as it only goes back so far, ill have another look when i've got some time, and hopefully with the issues with the waybackmachine all is not lost.

Huh!? You can't check through my whole links list as it is just on my HDD! 😀

...and the link you posted got its place on this list and I said "thanks", so it has some use for me, at least! 😉

The Wayback Machine won't be lost, have a look at what archive.org writes about the issue -> https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:73dpznbu4wqwtcyurwbiulov.

Sorry, no Save Page Now yet.

Safe to resume but might need further maintenance, in which case it will be suspended again.

Does anyone know what how to find the main\index page for whatever site this is a part of?
https://elsa.retropc.se/index.htm

I also found this:
https://diamond.retropc.se/index.htm

It seems to be part of https://www.infania.net/ , but, presumably these brand-specific pages must be linked to somewhere, right? I love having access to all of the stuff hosted by infania, but it is a bit hard to find things without a site map or a main index. Some are here, but the Elsa page is not, so there may be others too.

EDIT: I guess it's probably all here, just in a different format. http://ftp.infania.net/pub/Windows%20Drivers/

Now for some blitting from the back buffer.

I think there's also an archive subdomain on that one too.

I noticed before that they (retropc.se) did not link a subdomain index when searching thru https://mbmanuals.retropc.se/
I guess if we join the Swedish Retro Computer Association we would be given that info....

Hi. We have most of it under https://www.infania.net/misc/misc.html Now the Elsa page is also posted there. It may feel a bit messy, but I'm trying to get everything on that page.

I'm trying to download the video driver archive but it seems it hasn't been included in the torrent file. If you get a chance can you update the torrent to include any other archives that you've added? Also, that would probably mean leaving a PC running so someone can actually get the files as well. I'd get it from the archive but it is incredibly slow and would take forever. 😯

Thank you again for taking the time to archive these.

Now for some blitting from the back buffer.

You know you can download individual files directly from an archive on Archive.org? No need to download the whole thing (unless there is a reason for it)

I tried searching the list on archive.org and none of the ones I was looking for were coming up, despite being listed on the original website. I wasn't sure if something was just not showing up on archive.org or if they are genuinely missing from the the site before it was archived. I don't absolutely need the whole thing offline, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to have a local copy since I have an extra 1TB drive dedicated specifically to archives like this (including the soundcard-drivers.com one) and this one is missing. That was when I noticed that the torrent was missing the video card portion, so I figured I'd mention it.

Most likely the links to the specific files I was looking for must have been broken so they weren't ever in this archive, but I was able to find them on another site thankfully.

Hmm... actually... this "helpdrivers" site actually has a lot of the stuff from video-drivers.com and the others...

https://www.helpdrivers.com/

I would say if something is missing from the other sites or even the archived copies it is definitely worth checking there.

Just throwing this out there, but if anyone finds a backup of Avance Logic's FTP from ~1997-2000, or maybe has some of the files from the "Graphics" section of the site downloaded from back then, please post here.

I'm looking for stuff related to the ALG25128, specifically the reference schematics they had available.

The original page is archived here:
https://web.archive.org/web/20000817032342/ht … ce/download.htm

I'm not sure, but Realtek may have migrated all of this to their FTP... until they shut that down too... 🙁
ftp://ftp.realtek.com.tw/pub/avance

Specific files I'm looking for:
25128dm.exe
ap9548b.exe
ap9535c.exe

Now for some blitting from the back buffer.

An archived copy of some german file repository with lots of drivers and old stuff https://web.archive.org/web/20000621143458/ht … ware_index.html

Arrghh.... is there any chance that you or anyone else downloaded any of this stuff from this site back in the day before it was archived?
https://web.archive.org/web/20010312020506/ht … _128/index.html

Some of the links still work but the ones I really wanted are missing. 🙁

Specifically...
2564dm.zip 16.09.1997 1269k ALG2564 Design Manual Ver.1.0
25128dm.zip 16.09.1997 1496k ALG25128 Design Manual
ug2564b.zip 16.09.1997 70.5k ALG2564 User's Guide in Word 6.0 Format

I was able to download the BIOS utility for adding a custom OEM logo message... which is stinking cool!

Also, more importantly, I was able to get the "VDiagnostic ver. 1.10" program. I am hoping that will help me figure out if my card can be fixed or not.

Still, I'd love to get my hands on those schematics\design manuals.

Now for some blitting from the back buffer.
