440EX is cost, features reduced chipset and 66MHz fsb. The memory bank is 2 according to the wiki. This probably have to do with specific memory issues you are having.

Have you tried two memory sticks of 128MB each for 256MB total? This is also what 440EX supports memory max size.

3Dnow and SSE is needed to work correctly which others have seen with both games and video card drivers requirements.

Two sticks of 128MB work just fine and is what I ended up using.

For my CT-6ESA2 (440EX) MATX board works 1x256mb stick (games also work).

Interesting thread! I’ve been testing these drivers with my FX5900XT and gotten pretty much identical results! I’m running 45.23 with the inf modded to support this GPU now. After having various issues with later ones
