For the first time, I am forced to use the first release of Windows 95. The solutions I was used to are not working here. Dependencies like the USB supplement cannot be installed. How do you guys handle CD images under such conditions?

Try Virtual CD-ROM v1.01, its for Win95, but it has its own image format as i member, you have to convert images.

It works well, and the compression feature makes the conversion worthwhile for me. Thank you!

I have used it view times, good that it works well for you.

Now i usually use Win95B and there even DaemonTools works with some extra needed files.

Would you mind sharing which version of DaemonTools is still compatible (with B / OSR2) and which support files you need in order for it to run?

[Install Win95 like you were born in 1985!] on systems like this or this.

After extensively testing both Daemon Tools and Virtual CloneDrive, I ultimately chose Alcohol 120% v1.4.7.1005 for all my Windows builds (from 95 to XP). I It’s the only solution that consistently avoided issues with Windows hanging during the shutdown process.

Same Daemon Tool that you use for Win98/Win98SE/ME, i have been using it with Win95B / OSR2 (Smallest Floppy Disk Edition).

Instructions i got from this forum somewhere.

Daemon Tools for 95b or 95c instrctuions ( No IE4 bloatware, at least with B )
1. install InstMsiA.exe
2. "Microsoft MCI CD Audio"(control panel--add new hardware--no--sound,video--Microsoft MCI--CD audio device(need win95cd), reboot
3. install usb supplement (Usbsupp--reboot) (need SCANDSKW.EXE to /WINDOWS).
(Cant rembember any scandskw.exe /windows, just installed usb supplement or xusbsupp, do it if its need it - Scandisk it does automatically)
4. copy to /WINDOWS/SYSTEM
riched32.dll(cab5)
WINSPOOL.DRV (cab4)
SETUPAPI.DLL (ie4)
CFGMGR32.DLL(ie4)
5. install Daemon Tools

If you want, i have those files already, but i think you can extract them and find them.
