Does somebody have a manual / jumper setting for this card? Otherwise I will report here what I find out.

The ET4000AX is labeled "P/N:2140"

Its this card:

Its interesting because it has EGA and VGA out. And the ET4000 should be a fast card.

I dumped both ROMs:

Enhanced VGA BIOS MODEL:2140. 09/14/90

I got the card with all 4 DIPs "OFF". When powering on, VGA-out shows a a sharp and crystal clear picture on my DELL LCD, much much better than a more modern PCI-VGA.

At the same time, BIOS screen is output on the digital EGA-connector!

After the BIOS-screen, the PC boots with VGA-out. EGA is black / no signal.

I tested some video modes with checkit. With 2 modes, signal was activated on the EGA-out.

Will try some DIP settings the next days too see what changes.

OK thats interesting...output on EGA seems to be always the same as on VGA. Duke3d (320x200x8) is also displayed on EGA, with wrong colors of course (DIP3=ON, DIP1,2,4=OFF)

Dont know if I would connect my EGA monitor to this, but I will check the freqencies of this mode.
