Novell Netware - “YES”

YES, those stickers were an important landmark, and I refuse to remove them 🤣 - NE2000 compatible identification

The problem was that they covered up the networking chip with the “Yes” sticker.
If you wanted to identify the networking card so you could set it up and configure it,
You had to peal off the sticker.

You could put the card on a scanner and make a copy of that label (print it).. 😀

Btw, that reminds me of the CPS Sound Blaster cards.
There too are restoration attempts for cards with stickers missing.

As you can see in the thread I linked to, it's perfectly possible to identify the card and the chip without peeling off the sticker.

There were Sound Blasters with "CPS Hamburg" stickers?
I've only encountered Aztech cards with such rebranding.

Hi, the CPS Sound Blasters were Aztech based as far as I know.
Like this one here: https://amoretro.de/2012/09/cps-sound-blaster … laxy-nx-ii.html
Creative Labs allowed CPS to use the Sound Blaster branding at one point, I think.
That was in a time when Creative couldn't satisfy demand, so I assume CPS "helped out" in further establishing the Sound Blaster brand.
In 1993 there apparently was a legal fight between them two, though: https://www.ibusiness.de/aktuell/db/1144776879.html

Edit: What' s not mentioned, though, is that the original Sound Blasters had a different PCM/FM volume ratio than most clones.
Games like GODS do sound right on the original sound cards only by default.
Later cards can be adjusted using mixer utility to have the right volume levels, again.
Older cards can be adapted using resistors etc, I think.

OK - looks like CPS rebranded their Aztechs to "Audio Blaster" at certain point.

This Aztech Sound Galaxy NX Pro:

...was sold as "Audio Blaster Pro 4", and I think the bundled software was also branded accordingly.

And to stay on-topic, let's remind Aztech's advertising of that product:
"The only stereo sound card that supports 4 sound standards"
