This is intended to be an update/continuation of DVD Games, where art thou?

The thread suggested many DVD games, but not a lot of categorizations of the differences in their CD vs DVD counterparts.

I can start with:

Claw
The X-Files
Spycraft

All having improved videos in MPEG-2 format

DreamCatcher Interactive/Aneiva Interactive first released Cydonia: Mars - The First Manned Mission on CD-ROM and then re-released the game as Lightbringer: The Next Giant Leap for Mankind on DVD-ROM. Per the publisher, the game was "remastered for DVD format": https://web.archive.org/web/20001010233312fw_ … ghtbringer.html

The Adventure Company/Detalion and LK Avalon released CD and DVD versions of Schizm: Mysterious Journey. The Wiki article for the game enumerates a number of differences in gameplay including elements not available in the CD-ROM version: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schizm:_Mysterious_Journey

Wing Commander IV for sure, way better DVD quality MPEG video than the CD release. Wing Commander III might have had a DVD release like that as well but I'm not sure.

I think WC3 for Windows was just included in the Kilrathi Saga, and most likely no independent release was ever made

Quite a few titles had DVD re-releases that were exclusive to DVD-ROM drive purchases, so there's probably at least a dozen or so, though I suspect that some of those releases were multi-title ones, with more than one game on it.

Quite interested to get them. A lot of them probably came with those early SB+DVD packages

I dont know too much about this, but I do have a few games where there was a DVD release later and instead 3 cds you only have to use 1 DVD. The lord of the rings two towers game did this. I do recall that some games had a reel magic version but i bet those are impossible to find.
